Library Journal Review

Professional photographer Davey here makes a compelling list of 40 must-see places, lavishly embellished with spectacular photos. He admits that other experienced globe trekkers will likely have their own lists and contest some of his choices, but they are, after all, just that his choices. And what choices they are: the Taj Mahal, St. Petersburg (in winter no less!), Venice, Lhasa, the Galapagos, Rio, and dozens more. While most of us know about Zanzibar, how many know of the Dead Vlei of Namibia, or Samarkand, Uzbekistan, or Killary Harbour, Ireland? After reading the compact yet poignant essays (and Davey's prose equals his pictures), one will want to visit them all.
