Author Notes

Carol Stack is the former director of admissions at Macalester College and Augsburg College.
Ruth Vedvik has held the position of director of admissions at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Ball State University, and Agnes Scott College. Together, the two authors have more than 80 years of experience in the college admission and financial aid fields. For the past 21 and 15 years, respectively, Stack and Vedvik have worked as principals at EAB Hardwick Day, an enrollment consulting firm that works with the admission and financial aid offices of colleges and universities such as Whittier, Butler, Bradley, and Salve Regina University.
