The "Adventures of Celtic" is the first in a series of books that will involve an adventurous young dog just learning his role as a family pet and how he fits into society. It is must-read for all dog lovers and for all children who have a puppy. It promises to bring a smile to parents and kids as they will be able to relate to the funny things their own family pets have tried through the years.

A couple of months after I came to live on Spotted Fawn Ct., Tyler and Dad started walking me down to the pond at the end of our street after breakfast. It was great. There were all sorts of things to do outside. Everything smelled so great and there were a lot of doggy friends on our street. The only bad thing was that Tyler would get on this big yellow monster every day and leave. I would cry. I wanted to go with Tyler. One day, we were almost to the pond when I spotted a goofy looking thing with a long yellow nose and a very weird haircut.Naturally, I wanted to go see just what this thing was. I took a couple steps, and then heard the funniest sound I had ever heard."Quack."I thought, "What the heck is Quack?"I took a couple of more steps and this thing got a little upset."Quack, Quack, Quack,'' it said. Then I saw why it was "quack, quack, quacking." There were a bunch of little "Quack, Quack, Quackers" hanging around the Big Quack."Wow,'' I thought. "They are smaller than me."I took off so hard I pulled right out of my leash. Tyler and Dad were chasing me and I was chasing the Quackers. I just wanted to play. But those Quackers wanted nothing to do with me. There were feathers flying everywhere.I finally stopped, tilted my head, and walked back to Tyler and Dad. They were laughing so hard. I didn't know what was so funny. All I wanted to do was play. But we don't go see the big yellow monster anymore. Excerpted from The Adventures of Celtic by Todd Hveem All rights reserved by the original copyright owners.
