This adorable book by bestselling author Monica Sheehan helps us to remember that love--whether between a parent and child, best friends, or even a dog and a mouse--is the most wonderful offering of all. Love Is You & Me. is a vibrant, uplifting title that's perfect for Valentine's Day or any time of the year.
An ideal gift for loved ones, this jacketed hardcover edition contains the same text as the board book, along with a bookplate and two additional spreads of artwork.

School Library Journal Review
PreS-Gr 3-Line-drawn mouse and hound canoodle from rooftops to beaches, winter camp to trampoline, celebrating a togetherness that can transcend distance. The energetic pair dominates spare vignettes, which are often decorated in hearts. The text banks on adages like "Love is the place where you always belong." and "Love will catch you when you fall." Visually adorable, the book is an extended valentine, best appreciated by all romantics.-Gay Lynn Van Vleck, Henrico County Library, Glen Allen, VA (c) Copyright 2014. Publisher's Weekly Review
This buoyant board book celebrates the love between an exuberant dog (that starred in Sheehan's Be Happy! A Little Book for a Happy You) and a gray mouse. The loosely outlined animals ride in a car ("When you're around the skies are blue./ It's like being happy! Times two"), sit on a city rooftop watching heart-shaped fireworks, roast marshmallows in the woods, and curl up under the covers at night ("Love is the place... where you always belong"). Sheehan avoids casting her duo in parent-child roles, giving this book added potential as a gift between adults. Ages 2-5. (Dec.) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
Horn Book Review
Loosely sketched pen-and-ink line drawings feature a small mouse and a spotted dog on white pages enthusiastically appreciating the love they share together. "Love is me...and love is you. / So when you smile, I smile too." The gushingly sentimental rhymed text is filled with over-the-top expressions, all of which will probably have little appeal for the intended young audience. (c) Copyright 2014. Booklist Review
A hug, a dance, a ride in a convertible a flop-eared, spotted dog and his dear mouse friend share all of these activities and more in this candy heart of a book full of enthusiastic praise of love: Love is fun! It's feeling free! / Love lets you be who you want to be. The brief rhyming text and jaunty illustrations featuring simple objects and easily identifiable actions make this book a great choice for storytime, although the small trim size may make it better suited to one-on-one sharing. The wiggly, spare pen-and-ink drawings of the two animal friends roasting marshmallows, bouncing on a trampoline, and sharing a milkshake will appeal to fans of Sandra Boynton's books, like Doggies (1984) or Snuggle Puppy (2003). Saved from pure sappiness by the exuberance of the loosely sketched characters and a big, bouncy typeface surrounded by lots of white space, Love Is You & Me is happy, breezy schmaltz to share with a favorite friend.--Willey, Paula Copyright 2010 Booklist
